chroie is a shared chore and task board for households and small groups. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the app needs to work.
Who we are
chroie ("we", "us") operates this application. For any privacy question or request, contact us through the support channel listed on our website.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign up we receive your email address, name, and profile image from our authentication provider (Clerk), along with whether your email is verified.
- Group content. Groups you create or join, member roles, tasks and chore templates, notes, assignments, absence windows, invitations, and an activity history of changes within a group.
- Preferences. Your active group and display color.
- Operational data. Basic security and abuse-control records such as rate-limit counters. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard server logs (for example IP address and request metadata) to deliver and secure the service.
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To run the task board and keep your groups in sync.
- To send group invitation emails via our email provider (Resend). We send no other email.
- To secure the service and prevent abuse.
We rely on our legitimate interest and the performance of our agreement with you for everything needed to provide the core service.
Sharing and processors
We share data only with service providers that help us run chroie, under their own terms:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Turso / libSQL — database hosting.
- Resend — invitation email delivery.
- Vercel — application hosting and scheduled jobs.
These providers may process data outside your country. We may also disclose data if required by law.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal profile and cascade-delete the groups and records tied to it; some content you contributed to shared groups may be retained in de-identified form (for example a task history entry with your name removed) so the group's records stay intact.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction, deletion. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Manage your profile in the app or email us to make a request.
- Complaints. If you are in the EEA or UK you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Cookies
We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in and to secure the app (set by our authentication provider). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
chroie is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
